It all started innocently enough… Me, the kids, 2 half full bags of delicious (yet old) multigrain organic bread. We set off on an adventure to explore the rocky beach and feed the geese.
First we got there and we just played… The geese were off in the distance in two groups which I will now refer to as “goose gangs”. One gang was off eating grass behind us, and one was off swimming further off in the rocky area.
Everything was fine until two geese came swimming our way, and we thought “hey lets feed them this bread!”
Within seconds Goose Gang #1 from behind flew right over us landing in the water and quickly started making their approach. There was a lot of squawking, and commotion, and then suddenly Goose Gang #2 took to the skies and hit the water…
They came fast and furious and definitely had the look of bread addiction in their beady little eyes.
My youngest was holding bread in his hands and a group of them started closing in on him.
Meanwhile, the struggle is real for me to a) keep snapping these photos or b) save my child.
I start yelling “THROW THE BREAD AWAY BUDDY!! THROW THE BREAD!!!!!” And then I drop my camera, and just start frisbee tossing whole bread slices way out into the lake to get them to get the #%&@ away from us!!! I knew I had to rid myself of every crumb or they would continue to pursue me and literally the second all the bread was frantically tossed the sky opened up and it started POURING rain!!
“RUN TO THE CAR KIDS!!!! RUNNNNN TO THE CAR!” Camera into ziplock bag. Mission adventure complete!
